GRANTS FOR ILLAWARRA VOLUNTEER ORGANISATIONS

Liberal Senator for New South Wales, Senator the Hon Concetta Fierravanti-Wells has encouraged community organisations in the Illawarra to apply for grant funding to support the efforts of their volunteers.

The Turnbull Government is providing $20 million worth of grants valued between $1,000 and $5,000 to not-for-profit organisations.

“The Illawarra has a proud history of volunteerism and its citizens are incredibly generous with their time and efforts,”

“It is fantastic to see grant funding available to supplement this good work,” said Senator Fierravanti-Wells.

The grants can be used towards the cost of essential items that help make the work of our community’s volunteers easier, safer, and more enjoyable, such as equipment, training and transport.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of our community and by continuing to help each other and work together, we are building a stronger and safer Illawarra region.

“I encourage all not-for-profit organisations in the Illawarra to apply for the Volunteer Grants round to assist our volunteers and encourage volunteering.”

The Volunteer Grants round is expected to open in August.
